Anime Like My New Boss Is Goofy
For Fans of Cutely Clumsy
Play It Cool, Guys
Despite having different personalities, four boys in various stages of young adulthood all have one thing absolutely in common – clumsiness.
All four boys are naturally clumsy, but often cover their small slip-ups with a smooth recovery to keep the cool air they have cultivated around themselves in front of others.
Play It Cool, Guys is a whole show dedicated to several unrelated young men who are clumsy in the cutest possible way. Shirosaki in My New Boss is Goofy could easily slide himself into the show and be one of those guys. In fact, due to the disconnected way their stories are explored, My New Boss is Goofy could be a segment in Play It Cool, Guys.
Both of these series are Cute Boys Doing Cute Things anime that explore the softer, cuter side of modern masculinity.
You and Me
To four high school boys, school life is nothing but repetitive classes, arguments, and orientations that are constantly preparing them for careers too distant in the future. However, after realizing the right group of friends can help brighten things up, they seek to bring excitement to their dull school days.
While My New Boss is Goofy follows adult men in the workplace and You and Me follows teenage boys in school, they are both softer slice of life series about Cute Boys Doing Cute Things.
Both series get their comedy from clumsiness and silliness that comes when men get together and there are no women involved to be romantic targets. They are aimed at the cuter side of masculinity rather than the intense, horny, and/or aggressive side that anime likes to portray.
Tanaka-kun is Always Listless
For Tanaka, being listless is a way of life. He spends his every waking moment looking for ways to conserve his energy. However, it seems the whole world is out to change his lazy ways.
Although Tanaka-kun is Always Listless is about high schoolers and is not a workplace anime like My New Boss is Goofy, it lives in the same vein of a main character that is kind of quirky viewed from the people around him.
However, while Shirosaki is cutely clumsy and gushed over by his new kouhai, Tanaka-kun is, as the title says, always listless and his lack of energy tends to comically grate those around him.
Both series are low on plot and feature abundant, but low-intensity jokes surrounding the titled quirky nature of the main characters.
Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan
On the set of children’s show “Together with Mama,” 31-year-old Omota Uramichi is upbeat and cheerful to the children, but they are all ultimately put off as they get a taste of his adult angst and darkness that comes out in his cheerful voice.
Yet, failed gymnastics coach Uramichi isn’t the only one who is feeling the burden of a life passing him by. Others on the show suffer similar adult darkness.
Although My New Boss is Goofy and Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan are both workplace comedies following adults, they present you with two different comedy experiences.
My New Boss is Goofy is about Momose being healed from his past abusive work experience by a boss who is cutely clumsy and supportive. Alternatively, Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan is about Uramichi and his coworkers being disappointed with the dream-shattering realities and mundanity of adult life. While My New Boss is Goofy is a iyashikei sort of workplace comedy, Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan is more a dark comedy about a depressed children’s show host.

However, unlike the new worker/boss dynamic in My New Boss is Goofy, The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague are co-workers at equal rank.
While The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is a very slow moving romance with very light supernatural elements, it still maintains that nice fluffy and refreshing atmosphere that My New Boss is Goofy has.
Essentially, both of these series are meant to be healing to the overworked office workers that watch them, so they are low-stress, low drama, and often very cute.
My Tiny Senpai
Takuma Shinozaki is a young office worker. He finds small moments of enjoyment at his job thanks to his more senior team member, Shiori Katase.
Katase is tiny, cute, and endlessly kind to him. He frequently finds that she is coddling him at work and after a hard day. He hopes she is not just doing it out of obligation as his senpai, but gradually the feelings behind her actions start to come out.
There are actually many moments where My Boss is Goofy actually feels like the same exact show as My Tiny Senpai. It even shares some of the same jokes. The only real difference is gender.
Both My Tiny Senpai and My New Boss is Goofy are fluffy workplace anime about a new workers and his silly, cute senpai. However, as the senpai in My Tiny Senpai is a short woman with big booba, it slowly moves into being a romance where no side wants to readily admit their very clear feelings.
While My Tiny Senpai has the romance that My New Boss is Goofy lacks, they offer the same fluffy experience that is always dripping with cuteness.
My Senpai is Annoying
At a trading company, junior salesperson Futaba Igarashi has flourished under the guidance of her senpai, Harumi Takeda.

While both My New Boss is Goofy and My Senpai is Annoying are workplace anime about a relatively relaxed and supportive workplace instead of abusive stressful ones, they do offer a bit of a different experience.
My New Boss is Goofy is very much a fluffy comedy about a new worker healed by how cute and supportive his boss is. Alternatively, My Senpai is Annoying is focused more on workplace romance between a small tsundere and her dense, tall, and still supportive senpai.
Both series are pretty wholesome and have their fair share of cute comedy through awkward moments, but My Senpai is Annoying is very focused on workplace romance blooming between its multiple different couples.
As Miss Beelzebub Likes It

However, he discovers that Beelzebub isn’t quite as fearsome. In fact, he is really a girl and is obsessed with fluffy things.
So begins the tale of how Myurin learns that nothing is as it seems in this kingdom.
While As Miss Beelzebub Like It is a workplace anime the same as My New Boss is Goofy, it takes place in hell – but like, the cutest form of hell.
Despite the clear supernatural and gender differences, both My New Boss is Goofy and As Miss Beelzebub Likes It is about a worker who becomes absolutely enamored with how cute their boss is. They gush over them frequently and would do anything for their cute senpai. While both series are mostly just cute workplace comedy, because it follows a man and a woman, there is just a bit of romantic hinting in As Miss Beelzebub Likes It.

While My New Boss is Goofy is Cute Boys Doing Cute Things, but the “cute thing” is working a relatively normal office job, Gakuen Babysitters is Cute Boys Doing Cute Things, but the “cute thing” is taking care of small children.
Both shows are “softer” sort of anime that follow male characters, and are fully dedicated them to making them do cute things as often as possible. Sanrio Boys
Kouta Hasegawa is a completely normal high school student who likes his Pompompurin stuffed animal, a Sanrio character modeled after a Golden Retriever, which his grandmother gave him when he was young.
However, after being made fun of, he became ashamed of them. That all changes when he starts meeting other boys that like Sanrio characters.
Both My New Boss is Goofy and Sanrio Boys are about young men who are uncommonly cute in the fluffy way they act.
My New Boss is Goofy is a cute, almost healing anime that challenges the long presented ideal of the stoic, dedicated, and wildly overworked salaryman by presenting office workers who treat each other like the people – not cogs – that they are. Alternatively, Sanrio Boys is a cute, somewhat healing anime that challenges the masculine stereotype that men shouldn’t like cute things by being about high school boys that like Sanrio plushies and mascots.
Both series are unique in that they paint male characters as adorable and almost as moe as anime is accustomed to doing with female character, but without minimizing them.
Yotsuiro Biyori
Kyousui Tougoku has inherited a Japanese-style cafe called Rokuhoudou from his grandfather. However, pleasant days turn into chaotic ones when the cafe turns into an overnight sensation.
Both My New Boss is Goofy and Yotsuiro Biyori are about men at work. While My New Boss is Goofy is an office workplace, Yotsuiro Biyori follows the male workers of a cafe.
As these series lack any other plot or romance, both My New Boss is Goofy and Yotsuiro Biyori get their plot content from following the cute and somewhat quirky cast of characters. My New Boss is Goofy angles at showing you the cute side of adult salarymen while Yotsuiro Biyori presents more handsome men, but still gives them a few lovable quirks that endear them to you.
