Anime Like Kowloon Generic Romance

The Second Kowloon Walled City is a lawless city of squalor that was cobbled together over the ruins of its previously demolished predecessor. However, for its residents that live there, they find the squalor and the nostalgia that it brings endearing.

Amidst the flickering streetlights and moldy alleys is Reiko Kujirai, a 32-year-old real estate agent who has fallen in love with her co-worker, Hajime Kudo. While they get along, Kudo keeps her at an arm’s length. One day, when Kudo sleepily wakes up and kisses her, she is thrilled, only to be told that he mistook her for someone else.

These recommendations were I hardest I’ve had to work at a long time, purely because you never quite know how this series will go. For a mystery anime, I feel that is also the best praise I can give. 1. This is such a good list. Your hard work is appreciated! (Been a fan of this website and Facebook page since 2020)

    1. Thank you!

It really was a tough one to recommend for. Usually when I watch an entire series and still struggle to make the connections, i don’t see it as a good thing. Like, the plot was sort of unclear or meandering, but it this case, I think the mystery and the unexpected reveals was part of experience.

But anyway, thank you for the nice comment. And as some who does their own social media stuff (as bare bones as it is), I see you, and know you from my Facebook page, and thank you for all the likes!
