While there are those who enjoy the cute little moe fang, there are others who demand a whole mouth of sharp teeth. For some characters, they can come with a real set of chompers that make them look more like a shark than a person. In some cases, those teeth are used to denote a bit of a snaggle-tooth on the character. In other cases, those teeth are used to display an aggressive, or at least competitive character. Sharp teeth are the universal sign of a predator, as it were. In other other cases, they are a literal fishperson. Regardless of what they mean for a character, if you need some shark teeth in your life, these anime characters got them.
Best Anime Characters With Shark Teeth
Soul from Soul Eater
In a series rife with odd characters, Soul, even with his shark teeth, is one of the more normal ones. However, the jagged smile seems to be a particular favorite from the author, as we will discuss later.
Rokuro from Twin Star Exorcist
When you are first introduced to Rokurou, the predatory shark teeth don’t seem so fitting, but as you get to know him, you understand.
Denji and Power from Chainsaw Man
A two for one affair since I don’t like putting multiple characters from one series on lists, and I couldn’t decide which I enjoyed more. Regardless, both are characters infused with devils, and act crazed like devils should.
Ryuk from Death Note
The gods of death, the Shinigami should look a little horrifying, shouldn’t they? The work they do is not of a wholesome sort, after all.
Dororo from Dororo
This titualar character is actually an interesting example, since their sharp teeth are less indicative of predatory nature and more indicative of the poor dental care available in ancient Japan.
Lu Bu from Record of Ragnarok
This Chinese legend is brought to fight for humanity in the war to decide if humanity should be extinct. He is what you might call “a battle maniac,” and everythign about him suggests as much.
Desha from Ranking of Kings
As king of the underworld and son of Satun, you might expect Desha to look a bit menacing. However, his looks are actually a sore subject. Hating his father, he wished he looked more handsome like his brothers.
Kirishima from My Hero Academia
Both Kirishima and his B-class power twin Tetsutetsu shared these jagged teeth. It fits their macho attitudes and make them look real neat when they get hard.
My Hero Academia actually has a long love affair with shark teeth. Many characters have them.
Staz from Blood Lad
As a vampire, you expect Staz to have sharp teeth, but shark teeth on a vampire is a new style choice. It works though.
Similar to My Hero Academia, Blood Lad, as a series about vampires and other creatures, also has many a sharp smile.
Shinra from Fire Force
From the same author as Soul Eater, here we have another main character with shark teeth. Furthermore, he is even more prominent about it since he smiles like a psychopath when nervous.
Arlong from One Piece
I mean, he’s a fishman based on a sawshark, so…
Kisame from Naruto
Woah, hey look, another fishman. In fact, this seems to be a trait shared by much of the Village of the Mist people. Even Zabuza, who isn’t particularly fishy in other ways.
Rin from Free
The shark teeth seems an unexpected addition to Free, a show that maintains a rather realistic art style, but it is both an anime about swimming and Rin is pretty competitive.
Grell from Black Butler
At a glance, the teeth seem to just make Grell be more demon-y, but Grell is pretty aggressively predatory at moments.
Viral from Gurren Lagann
A a beastman and also maintaining a rivalry with the main characters throughout the series, Viral’s teeth fit the mold.
Nio from Akuma no Riddle
This is one of those, “the best predator hides their fangs” sort of situations since Nio is perhaps the most dangerous person in the class. Except it is reversed – the fangs are the only hint.
Shark Fujishiro from My Bride is a Mermaid
Hey, another fish person. This time he has shark teeth rather literally since they are, in fact, a shark.
Moral from Hamatora
What are serial killers if not predators, right?
Yoichi Hiruma from Eyeshield 21
Though the series is about football, competition has every place in sports. As such, the bestial aspects of Yoichi are rather fitting.
Maid Guy from Kamen no Maid Guy
Perhaps added to make him seem more intimidating, but as you get to know Maid Guy, they fit because he is super aggressive in every respect.
