am i actually the strongest anime

Anime Like Am I Actually the Strongest?

After he was promised to be reincarnated into a new world with cheat-level powers, a man is reborn a royal baby named Reinhart. Unfortunately, his powers are so OP that they can’t be measured by traditional means.

Not wanting a weak member of the royal family, his parents abandon him in the woods. Luckily, the king’s brother seeks him out and takes him home to raise as his own, along with the demon that pledged her loyalty to him after getting a taste of baby Reinhart’s powerful magics.

With endless power at his disposal, Reinhart makes his way through this dangerous new world of adventure.

While it has more than a few interesting concepts, it’s sad that this series doesn’t actually do much with them other than be a standard isekai adventure. If you are looking for anime recommendations like Am I Actually the Strongest, head on down below.

For Fans of Actually The Strongest

Kagerou from the Eminence in Shadow anime

The Eminence in Shadow

Like most kids, Kagerou wanted to be a hero, but unlike most kids, he never grew out of that phase. He constantly trained his body to achieve it. In modern Japan, he was unable to achieve that goal, understanding that he could never reach enough power to be the type of hero he wanted to be.

However, when he was reborn in a new world, he pretends to be just another character in the world. He recruits people into his organization, Shadow Garden, and decides to target a sinister cult that is lurking in the shadows that he wishes to occupy.

Both Am I Actually the Strongest and The Eminence in Shadow present isekai stories where the main character is reborn in a fantasy world to a noble house. They then discover that they posses powers that make them among one of the strongest individuals in their world, and commence to hide those powers from everyone except their supernatural stable of ladies.

Both series feature main characters solving problems as a mysterious alter-ego and have sisters that are very, very interested in them. However, the biggest difference is tone.

Am I Actually the Strongest keeps things light-hearted for the most part since all action is quickly concluded by his OP-ness. The Eminence in Shadow is focused on being more serious, a little bit darker, and goes for big spectacular action rather than fights quickly ended.

Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World anime

Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World – The Apostle of the Gods Who Know No Self-Restraint

After saving some young girls from an attacker, a teen boy died and reincarnated into a world of swords, sorcery, and adventurers. On his third birthday, Cain von Silford, the third son of a noble family remembered his previous life and was determined to make the most of his new one.

However, on his fifth birthday when children traditionally commune with the gods to receive their blessings, he didn’t just receive one blessing, he received blessings from all the gods, and the levels of those blessings were far above what even the most gifted humans received.

With his stats boosted so ridiculously powerful that he has to hide them from everyone, he decides to become an adventurer.

In truth, Am I Actually the Strongest and Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World are isekai anime that aim for a similar enjoyable low bar.

Both series are isekai about a kid reborn into another world with just spectacular levels of power. They are born into noble houses that afford them luxury, but commence to hide their wild overpowered abilities from their family while simultaneously using those powers to secretly help them. While they both also have cute little sisters that love them, she is less of a focus in Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World. However, both series also have a harem of interested ladies.

In essence, both Am I Actually the Strongest and Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World are both more light-hearted isekai anime that tell a pretty average story that isekai fans enjoy, and they tell it pleasantly.

wise mans grandchild anime

Wise Man’s Grandchild

After being hit by a truck and killed, a young man was reincarnated into a new world as a baby. He was found and raised by a legendary sage named Merlin and given the name Shin.

However, while Merlin taught him his skills and Shin grew into an extremely powerful mage, living in the forest failed to teach Shin common sense and other people skills.

Both Am I Actually the Strongest and Wise Man’s Grandchild are isekai anime about boys who are wildly gifted with powerful magic, but have some personality flaws. In Am I Actually the Strongest, Haruto wants to become a shut-in and only uses his magic for his own gain towards that end. In Wise Man’s Grandchild, Shin lacks common sense and social skills.

While both series are light-hearted isekai with the occasional bout of action and feature the main character going to magic school eventually, Wise Man’s Grandchild is a singular romance with harem elements unlike Am I Actually the Strongest and its harem and main character uninterested in romance.

summoned to another world for a second time anime

Summoned to Another World for a Second Time

Previously, Setsu was a hero that was summoned to another world embroiled in a bitter war to save it. With the help of his companions, he managed to succeed, ending a war between humanity and the demon kingdoms and bringing peace to the world.

However, Setsu was betrayed by someone close to him and returned to his original world after saving everyone. What’s more, he was returned as a baby that had to grow up all over again. There, he grew into a gloomy teenager, but one day he and his classmates were summoned, once again returning him to the world he had once saved.

While it is Haruto’s first go around at being isekai’d, Summoned to Another World for a Second Time is exactly what it says in the title. As such, instead of just being overpowered because of a deity’s gift, the main character is overpowered because he had done it all before.

While both series share an overpowered main character, Setsu in Summoned to Another World for a Second Time is a bit more cocky and as such the series adapts a less wholesome tone as it follows his adventures.

Perhaps the biggest similarity is that both series feature the main character either building or reuniting with his harem of diverse, occasionally demonic girls. It is just that in Summoned to Another World for a Second Time, it is about him just reuniting and reminiscing about old times with those girls rather than actually building them up as characters.

For Fans of Reborn Into Noble Families

Reborn to Master the Blade From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire anime

Reborn to Master the Blade – From Hero-King to Extraordinary Squire

On his deathbed, Hero-King Inglis is visited by the goddess who gave him her blessing in his youth. He used it to build a mighty empire, but regrets that leadership had to take priority over his martial training.

Offering him a wish, he wishes to be reincarnated in order to devote himself to the life of a warrior.

She grants it, but when he awakens, he finds himself in the body of a baby girl.

Despite the setback, Inglis still maintains some power from his previous life as well as his memories. With his body growing stronger each day, he continues to hone his blade skills.

What Haruto is the magical prowess in his new world, Inglis is to martial prowess. Both Am I Actually the Strongest and Reborn to Master the Blade feature people reborn as babies, but retaining the memories from their previous life. They then use their overpowered start to pursue their different goals.

Reborn to Master the Blade has the main character reborn into the distant future of his same world where he decides to not be a leader, but rather just focus on being a great fighter. That differs distinctly from Am I Actually the Strongest and Haruto’s desire to be a shut-in.

Both series feature heroes reborn into noble families that allow them to pursue their dreams with relative ease. However, Inglis is what you would call a battle maniac, so Reborn to Master the Blade has a large focus on fighting. It also differs since Inglis was a man in a previous life and is reborn as a woman, but it doesn’t put as much focus on that aspect outside of the occasional mention or joke. The genderbending is the hook, but not the focus.

The Reincarnation of the Strongest Onmyouji in Another World anime

The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World

In his life as the world’s strongest onmyouji, Haruyoshi only pursued power. However, even his immense power couldn’t stand up to the well-played cunning that saw him betrayed and slain.

Using a technique he formed, he is able to reincarnated himself into another world. In this world, he, unlike the other members of his prestigious mage family, has no affinity for magic.

Haruyoshi, now Seika, the son of his father’s mistress, is shunned for his origins and lack of affinity. However, while he lacks in traditional magic, he still excels in spiritual power, allowing him use of his onmyouji techniques.

While once he pursued power, he will now seek greatness by honing his cunning.

While both Am I Actually the Strongest and The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World feature main characters reincarnated into another world with their memories intact, they have differing tone and focus. Am I Actually the Strongest is a more light-hearted series and action isn’t really the focus. The Reincarnation of the Strongest Exorcist in Another World is similarly as cheerful at times, but treats serious moments as serious and is often more focused on the flashy fights.

Both main characters are wildly overpowered for their world, attract a harem, go to magic school, and are raised by noble uncles instead of their actual parents. However, perhaps the biggest similarity is that they both feature the main character taking care of problems in a very “behind the scenes” way where others don’t realize it was them.

the world finest assassin in another world anime

The World’s Finest Assassin Gets Reincarnated in Another World as an Aristocrat

The greatest assassin on Earth lived only to be a tool by those that wished to wield his mastery. That is, until they decided that he was no longer needed and ended his life.

By the grace of a goddess, this masterful man was reincarnated into a new world where he is asked to kill a hero that will later bring about the end of that world.

Deciding to finally live for himself, this man, now named Lugh Tuatha De, puts his skills as a killer to the test with foes who wield real magic.

Both Am I Actually the Strongest and The World’s Finest Assassin are isekai anime where the main character is reincarnated in a new world while still retaining their memories from a previous life. Furthermore, they are both born into noble families that are renowned for their abilities.

However, while Haruto is wildly overpowered and hides it from everyone, Lugh in The World’s Finest Assassin is overpowered because he was an assassin in a previous life, but is trained to be an assassin in his new world as well. Due to his past memories, he has a high aptitude even as a young child.

While both series have the main characters attracting a harem of cute girls that help them with their secret mission, they differ greatly in tone. Am I Actually the Strongest is quite light-hearted whereas The World’s Finest Assassin takes itself much more seriously. Unlike Am I Actually the Strongest that kind of glosses over Haruto murdering people, The World’s Finest Assassin adds weight to murder.

For Fans of Just Wanting To be A Shut-In

Azusa from the 300 Slimes anime riding on a cart

I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

Dying from overwork, Azusa Aizawa is allowed to reincarnate into a new world as a witch that will live forever.

Wanting to never be overworked again, she leisurely kills slimes in order to pay for living expenses. However, this meager amount of XP stacks over 300 years of doing it, and she finds herself at max level.

Fearing someone will try to thrust work upon her, she decides to try and hide her strength.

Both Am I Actually the Strongest and I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years are isekai anime where the main characters want the same thing – to the a shut-in and/or layabout. However, Am I Actually the Strongest is about him never getting what he wants while 300 Slimes is about what she does with her time.

While both series are light-hearted isekai anime, Am I Actually the Strongest is prone to moments of action as well as harem. 300 Slimes is more slice of life and leans pretty hard towards being Cute Girls Doing Cute Things.

gabriel dropout anime

Gabriel Dropout

After graduating high school in Heaven, angels are sent down to Earth to guide humans down a righteous path. Heaven had high hopes for Gabriel, the top of her class. However, when she descended, she ended up skipping her duties and getting addicted to online games.

While Gabriel Dropout is not an isekai, both it and Am I Actually the Strongest feature main characters that are very promising and talented, but just want to stay in their room all day an lounge around.

However, while they share a main character with similar motivations, Am I Actually the Strongest becomes a standard isekai adventure while Gabriel Dropout is more of a comedic Cute Girls Doing Cute Things anime with an occasional added layer of angels being hilariously terrible people.

dungeon of black company anime

Dungeon of Black Company

Kinji has finally perfected his NEET lifestyle through shrewd money management. However, just when he is able to hang out for the rest of his life, he is transported to another world.

There, he is immediately shoved into a harsh mining job for a black company that cares only about profits and quotas. However, as the world’s laziest and most clever NEET, Kinji is determined to be a layabout.

Both Am I Actually the Strongest and Dungeon of Black Company are isekai anime where the main characters have the same motivation – to become a shut-in. They were shut-ins in their previous life, and very much hope to return to that.

However, unlike Haruto who is overpowered and a pretty standard isekai protagonist outside his overall goals, Kinji in Dungeon of Black Company is a hilarious scumbag. Outside of being cunning, he isn’t particularly strong or good-hearted. It assures that these isekai series have very different adventures, and assures that Dungeon of Black Company is a comedy isekai anime where no one is even remotely heroic.
