One day, an average merchant named Banaza is summoned to another world. It turns out that the magical kingdom of Klyrode has been summoning heroes to help them fight against demons known as the Dark Ones.
Alongside Banaza, another man was summoned whose stats wow the king and he is chosen as a hero. However, Banaza, who has dismal stats, cannot be returned home. The kingdom grants him some land in a forest, but he discovers that it is blighted by demons living in the area.
In his new home, he not only discovers that he actually has cheat level powers that make him wildly powerful, but when he uses them to defeat a powerful demon, she has decided that she will be his devoted wife!
It started off average, but likable. It turns out “average, but likable” is actually a really enjoyable watch. Also, Danna-sama. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like Chillin’ in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers, head on down below.

Now he pays the village back for all their kindness by helping them out.
Similarities Between Chillin’ in Another World and Chillin’ in My 30s
- “Chillin’” Which I guess is how the industry translates “slow life” anime now.
- Both series are about a guy sent away who discovers he is actually OP and nobody, not even him, knew it.
- They very quickly meet an overly attached girl that they make their wife.
- They live their life in their home, only adventuring to solve various problems that would threaten their home and family.
- The main character, although human, befriends demons easily
- The human kingdoms want to make them a hero, but they said no due to their friendly relationships with the demons.
Differences Between Chillin’ in Another World and Chillin’ in My 30s
- Chillin’ in My 30s is not an isekai, its a “kicked from my organization” fantasy series.
- His wife is just a normal human in Chillin’ in My 30s unlike Fenrys who is a demon in Chillin’ in Another World
- Chillin’ in Another World, what with all the other girls living with him, has harem vibes without actually turning into one. Chillin’ in My 30s has no such thing.
The Rising of the Shield Hero
The stories tell of four heroes summoned from another world – the sword, spear, bow, and shield heroes who will prevent calamity. With darkness bearing down on them, the Kingdom of Melromarc summons these heroes from modern day Japan.
For otaku Naofumi Iwatani, unfortunately he is labeled the shield hero, the weakest of the group. Worse yet, betrayal sees him labeled as a criminal and outcasted.
With hatred and vengeance consuming him, he sets forth to grow strong.

- Heroes are summoned to another world
- They are told that they suck in comparison to the other heroes and are sent/driven away
- They adventure on their own and become/discover they are actually OP
- They make their own adventuring party with cute girls who appreciate them
Differences Between Chillin’ in Another World and The Rising of The Shield Hero
- Chillin’ in Another World is a slow life isekai, The Rising of The Shield Hero is very much an action-adventure isekai.
- As the main character in The Rising of The Shield Hero is betrayed and framed as a criminal, he is extremely bitter for a very long time. It makes the anime a bit edgier.
- All the girls in The Rising of The Shield Hero are very moe compared to the more adult women in Chillin’ in Another World.
Arifureta – From Commonplace to World’s Strongest
Otaku Hajime Nagumo and several of his classmates are summoned to a fantasy world and tasked with saving mankind. However, while his classmates are gifted with great abilities, Hajime only has transmutation skills that have no real offensive use.
He is soon betrayed by a classmate and sent into an abyss filled with monsters. Resolving to not die to the darkness, he struggles to survive and teams up with an imprisoned vampire to return to the world above.

- Arifureta has the main character betrayed and left for dead, thus he is extremely bitter about that and not nearly as pleasant as Flio.
- Arifureta is much more of an action and adventure isekai, not a slow life series like Chillin’ in Another World.
- The girls in Arifureta are a lot more moe compared to the adult women in Chillin’ in Another World.
- Arifureta is the darker, edgier series.
The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent
Sei, a young office worker, is summoned to a new world. However, the people who summoned her to banish dark magic from the world only meant to summon one person they would call Saint. Instead, they summoned two, and Sei discovers that they actually like the other girl better.
Not really caring about that, she ends up making potions at a research institute using her newfound magic. Unfortunately, while she is unexpectedly talented at her work and happy doing it, she begins to think that she is indeed the Saint.
Similarities Between Chillin’ in Another World and The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent
- Both series feature heroes summoned to another world
- The rulers decide that the other hero they summoned is “the hero” and the main character is sent away.
- Both sent away main characters are pretty happy to live their slow life following their passions instead of being the chosen one.
- The main characters discover they have pretty OP powers
- They start a singular romance that has progression over the course of the series
- Harem vibes without actually being harem anime. (They are both surrounded by women/men who like the main character a lot but respect that they are romantically unavailable.)
- Both main characters are peacemakers.
Differences Between Chillin’ in Another World and The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent
- The Saint’s Magic is Omnipotent follows a female main character and has more female audience sensibilities. (A bigger focus on building the romance slowly, reverse harem vibes, less action more storytelling, ect)
- There really isn’t flashy grand action in The Saint’s Magic is Omnipotent. It is more that she is adept in healing and helping people with her magic, not so much fighting with it like Flio in Chillin’ in Another World.

- Farming Life in Another World is very obviously a harem.
- There is almost no meaningful action in Farming Life in Another World. It is very slice of life.
