After working at an exploitative company, Ryouta Satou died from overwork, but was reincarnated to a fantasy world. There, he makes the unfortunate discovery that in a world of adventure, he is level-locked at level 1.
While he can’t level up, Ryouta gains access to a special cheat dungeon that shouldn’t exist. Inside, the monsters that don’t drop items for anyone else will drop weapons and items that let him rank up his skills.
After maxing his stats and gathering weapons only he can use, he finds that he is now overpowered even such a low level.
In an age where isekai is constantly trying to be really inventive with its plots, I can appreciate that this series just reworks the basics enough to make them feel fresh. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1, head on down below.
Anime Like My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1
For Fans of Dungeon Crawling
The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter
Noir is the son of a minor noble. He was going to work as a librarian until the son of a higher rank noble took the position. He does have one special advantage – the use of an ability to consult a great sage.
However, using it gives him terrible headaches. Discovering a way to lightly calm the headache, he consults the sage on how to move forward.
The sage guides him to a secret dungeon where he meets a trapped powerful adventurer. She grants him her powers so that he can gain power and admission to a great adventurer academy.
While The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter is not an isekai, it is probably the anime on this list most like My Unique Skill Makes Me OP.
Both series are dungeon crawling anime where the main characters find themselves with access to a special dungeon meant for their abilities that lets them grow more powerful. They then use this new power to go on other adventures with a growing harem of cute girls.
Yet, The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter does have one major difference from My Unique Skill Makes Me OP – it’s a bit more lewd. It isn’t graphically ecchi, just more provocative.
Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?
In the fantasy city of Orario, there is a massive labyrinth underneath it. For brave adventurers, glory and fortune can be found within. In order to tackle the challenging monsters inside, adventures join guilds of strong gods and goddesses.
However, for newbie adventurer Bell Cranel, no good guild will have him, except for Hestia, a goddess with no followers. Together they team up to grow strong and find glory.
While Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon isn’t an isekai anime, like My Unique Skill Makes Me OP, it is about characters frequently delving deep into local dungeons for fun and profit.
However, while My Unique Skill Makes Me OP has him doing that with an increasing harem of girls, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon has harem-like aspects, but they aren’t part of the main adventuring party.
Perhaps the biggest difference between these two series is action. My Unique Skill Makes Me OP has a little action, but it always feels low stakes. Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon is distinctly more dedicated to big action moments and cool fights.
Shachibato! President, It’s Time to Battle
Long ago, a goddess descended to the land of Gatepia. With her, gates opened up around the world to dungeons rich in a mineral used throughout the world as energy.
Following his father’s disappearance in one such dungeon, Minato is urged by his childhood friend Yutoria to become the president of his father’s treasure hunting company.
As Shachibato isn’t an isekai anime, it actually puts a bit more effort into building the plot of it series than My Unique Skill Makes Me OP, even if that plot is still the same – delve into dungeons with cute girls to make money.
While My Unique Skill Makes Me OP has the main character going into dungeons to both level up and to make money to pay for expenses, Shachibato has the main character trying to keep his father’s company afloat and also has a touch of mystery about trying to find out what happened to his father.
The Dungeon of Black Company
Kinji has finally perfected his NEET lifestyle through shrewd money management. However, just when he is able to hang out for the rest of his life, he is transported to another world.
There, he is immediately shoved into a harsh mining job for a black company that cares only about profits and quotas. However, as the world’s laziest and most clever NEET, Kinji is determined to be a layabout.
While My Unique Skill Makes Me OP is a rather wholesome and pleasant isekai adventure about harvesting goods from a dungeon, The Dungeon of Black Company takes a different approach.
While both series are isekai anime about navigating a dungeon to find new ways to make money, The Dungeon of Black Company is a comedy isekai anime about a scummy main character trying to make money in order to return to being a layabout. As such, he frequently takes advantage of people and does morally dubious things.
Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World
After being perpetually bullied in school, Michio Kaga is browsing a suicide website when an ad catches his eye. This ad takes him to a site that seems to allow him to create a character for an MMO.
He messes around on the site with it’s roll-based luck element until he gets top-tier stats before clicking accept. However, this website suddenly transports him to a game-like fantasy land.
Like My Unique Skill Makes Me OP, Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World is an isekai anime about a main character struggling his way through dungeons with a growing harem of girls.
There is one large caveat between these two series that look quite similar on paper, however. Harem in the Labyrinth in Another World is ecchi, and very graphic ecchi at that. Unlike My Unique Skill Makes Me OP where they dungeon crawl for fun and profit then return home to have a nice meal, Harem in the Labyrinth of Another World is about dungeoneering for fun and profit then returning home to have sex. So, they’re a bit different in that respect.
For Fans of OP Isekai Skills
I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World and Became Unrivaled in The Real World, Too
As he was ugly, fat, and disappointing, Yuuya has been the constant target for bullies. Even his parents and siblings treated him like an outcast. However, Yuuya’s grandfather was the only source of affection in his life, but he eventually passed away.
Being left his grandfather’s home, Yuuya discovers a strange door that opens to another world. Inside, he finds himself in the home of a sage and discovers a number of powerful weapons. Using these to defeat dangerous creatures in the surrounding forest, Yuuya discovers that he can level up, gain equipment, and even sell items upon leaving the world for real life currency.
After a day of adventure, Yuuya wakes up to discover that leveling up in the other world has leveled up his body in the real world too.
Both of these isekai anime work with the premise of giving the main character access to cheat-level powers right at the start. After they become overpowered, their adventures are basically adventures in getting to know harem companions and fighting strong enemies.
However, I Got a Cheat Skill in Another World is distinctly more focused on big action and sometimes more provocative harem interactions. However, they do still lean hard on protagonists that had a really hard life before now getting to live happily with people that actually love and appreciate him.
Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World – The Apostle of the Gods Who Know No Self-Restraint
After saving some young girls from an attacker, a teen boy died and reincarnated into a world of swords, sorcery, and adventurers. On his third birthday, Cain von Silford, the third son of a noble family remembered his previous life and was determined to make the most of his new one.
However, on his fifth birthday when children traditionally commune with the gods to receive their blessings, he didn’t just receive one blessing, he received blessings from all the gods, and the levels of those blessings were far above what even the most gifted humans received.
With his stats boosted so ridiculously powerful that he has to hide them from everyone, he decides to become an adventurer.
While My Unique Skill Makes Me OP goes through the extra steps of making the main character sort of level up his skills in a special way, and even then not being completely OP, Chronicles of an Aristocrat Reborn in Another World skips that and makes the main character beloved by all the gods and super overpowered by their gifts.
However, what these two isekai anime have most in common is they have a sort of action-adventure plot, but they don’t actually treat them very seriously. The main characters fight enemies with their harem of very cute girls and nothing ever feels particularly dire.
For Fans of Cute, Pleasant Isekai
Campfire Cooking in Another World
Alongside three other heroes, Mukouda Tsuyoshi was transported to a fantasy world to save a kingdom.
However, it becomes very apparent that he was summoned as a mistake when the only skill he has is to be able to open an interface to purchase food items from modern Japan.
Kicked out into the world, Tsuyoshi sets out into the world and his ability to make delicious dishes soon pays off. He attracted the attention of legendary wolf Fenrir who enjoyed the meal so much that he forms a pact with him to be his familiar.
Now employed as a merchant and adventurer, he travels and cooks to earn a living.
Both My Unique Skill Makes Me OP and Campfire Cooking in Another World follow rather overworked salarymen who are sent to another world, but are super weak. Both series bypass that weakness through the unique, somewhat obscure skill of the main character.
The big difference between these two isekai anime is that Campfire Cooking in Another World is very much a food anime. While both series are about main characters fighting things really only to get food and money, Campfire Cooking in Another World puts a lot more emphasis on actually cooking and eating the meals.
Regardless, they share a similar sort of cozy vibe to them, but Campfire Cooking in Another World doesn’t have many cute girls. Just cute slimes.
In Another World With My Smartphone
Touya Mochizuki is accidentally killed, and as an apology, God allows him to be reborn into a fantasy world. He also gets one wish.
Touya chooses to use his wish to keep his smartphone that he uses to give him the knowledge to thrive his new world. However, after meeting a pair of other adventurers, he finds that, while his smartphone is handy, his powerful magical affinity makes him one of the strongest mages in the world.
Both My Unique Skill Makes Me OP and In Another World With My Smartphone are best described as comfy isekai. You have likable if not somewhat plain main characters, surround by a harem of likable cute girls, and they go on rather low-stakes adventures. Furthermore, they both also have a unique “hook” in that they either are level locked, but able to increase their stats or they have access to a smartphone.
In Another World With my Smartphone isn’t a dungeon crawler, however. They mostly travel the world.
Farming Life in Another World
After dying of an illness, Machio Hiraku is given the opportunity to reincarnate into another world.
The god grants him a healthy body and his wish to live peacefully. Machio also asks if he can have a talent for agriculture in hopes that he can live a more fulfilling life.
The god grants him all this as well as the ability to summon a farming tool that can turn into any agricultural tool he needs, including one that makes any seeds he can think of.
Machio is sent in the middle of a forest full of dangerous creatures. Without any civilization in sight, he makes his own small farm that slowly accumulates residents that wander the woods.
Both My Unique Skill Makes Me OP and Farming Life in Another World feature main characters that are sent to a new world, but aren’t actually particularly strong – at least, at a glance. It is their unique skills that make them strong.
While Farming Life in Another World has the main character just want to be a farmer, he has several special skills that actually make him OP at farming and, as it turns out, OP in combat, though Farming Life in Another World isn’t a combat-focused anime.
What these series have in common is they are what you would call “wholesome harem” fantasy anime. The main character has a group of friendly women around him, they work and live together, and everything is kept pretty pleasant.
By The Grace of the Gods
After leading a miserable life, Ryouma Takebayashi passes away at age 39.
Three deities, taking pity on him, reincarnate him into a fantasy world with an aptitude for magic, telling him to enjoy life and that they will always watch out for him.
With his newfound existence, he spends it studying slimes, amassing a slime army, and learning some magic, but he misses humanity. Being persuaded to join a group of travelers, Ryouma’s new world opens up for him.
My Unique Skill Makes Me OP has a more adventure and combat focus, but like By The Grace of The Gods, everything is kept rather small so it can focus on the positive character relationships.
Both of these are isekai anime that you watch, not for depth of plot, but to just watch some characters enjoy their lives. However, By The Grace of The Gods is more focused on adventures in town and the main character running a business.
