Anime Like See You Tomorrow at the Food Court

Yamamoto intimidates people with her gyaru looks and Wada looks like the unapproachable studious type.

Though they attend different high schools, both girls are good friends and meet up with each other after school at the food court of the local shopping center everyday.

Lucky Star follows the average, but surprisingly eventful lives of four high school girls, led by the short and lazy otaku Konata Izumi.

Throughout their hijinks, they discuss humorous observations about the world around them, ranging from everything from otaku culture to the correct way of eating foods.

One day, Olivia – blonde-haired, foreign-looking transfer student – lies to air-headed Hanako about her English skills. Despite her looks, she has actually lived in Japan almost all her life and can’t speak English very well, but succeeded in tricking Hanako.

This bit of mischief sparked a series of small games in the classroom between them, annoying the nearby deadpan Kasumi who hates games after being teased mercilessly by her older sister for always losing.

However, the mischief eventually draws all three of them into the Pastime Club, a club Hanako created just to goof off.

Located five stations away from the booming nightlife district in Sapporo, one can find a small bar called Snack Bus.

Run by an older mama Basue and a younger, feistier mama Akemi, the pair deal with the slow trickle of eccentric regulars that come for conversation, drinks of varying strength, and poorly cooked, if available, food.

One day while skipping class, Adachi Sakura and Shimamura Hougetsu meet in the second floor gym.

They talk, play ping pong, and eventually become friends. However, as they spend more time together, their feelings begin to shift.

Yasumi Utatane is a voice actor that has gathered some fame for her pure and innocent demeanor, but she has recently struggled to find work. While she tries hard to maintain her persona, in truth, Yasumi Utatane is high school girl Yumiko Satou, a gyaru that prefers loose clothes and flashy jewelry to modesty. Her fierce attitude is a stark contradiction to her voice acting persona, which is why she works so hard to protect her identity.

One day, she gets an exciting opportunity to do a radio show with another up-and-coming voice actor, Yuuhi Yuugure. While Yuuhi embodies everything Yasumi thinks a voice actor should be, she soon discovers that Yuuhi is not only her gloomy classmate, Chika Watanabe, but that she is also quite different from the voice actor persona she puts before the public.

Together, they create quite the contentious pair off the air, but they are fully committed to the radio show as professionals. The bond they create by spending more time together slowly has them opening up and supporting each other.

Galko, Otako, and Ojou are three friends that seem like they have nothing in common.

However, while Galko is a gyaru on the outside and pure on the inside, Otoko is plain-looking but horribly sarcastic, and Ojou is wealthy but absent-minded, somehow their friendship works.
