Anime Like Sword of the Demon Hunter

When they were children, Jinta and his demon-infused sister Suzune run away from their abusive home. They are taken in by the Sentinel of Kadono village, who raises them alongside his daughter.

While Jinta is raised to protect the village from demon threats, even becoming the new Sentinel for the new shrine priestess he is in love with, Shirayuki. He is devastated when demons attack the village resulting in Suzune turned into a full demon, Shirayuki dead, and him transformed into an ageless demon.

Knowing it is his duty to stop his sister, Jinta now travels Japan dealing with demonic threats as he tries to prevent the rise of the prophecized Demon God.

In order to become indomitable on the battlefield, a samurai lord barters his son’s organs away to 48 demons and then abandons him.

However, his son doesn’t die. Instead, a medicine man saves him with primitive, but lethal prosthetics that allow him to hunt down the demons and regain his organs for an eventual battle with his father.

After the death of his father, Tanjirou has taken up the role of the man of the home, supporting his mother and five siblings. However, after selling charcoal in town, he returns to tragedy.

All his family was brutally slaughtered, save for one of his sisters. Unfortunately, she has been attacked by a demon and mingled their blood, turning her into a demon as well.

However, she still shows signs of humanity, thrusting Tanjirou onto a quest to find a way to change his sister back and preserve what is left of his family.

As the world is embroiled in a brutal civil war, the outnumbered northern faction turned to the creation of Incarnates, half-human, half-beast soldiers that dominate the battlefield with godlike abilities.

While the regiment of Incarnates turns the war in the favor of the North, the Incarnate soldiers began to struggle to retain their humanity each time they used their powers. With the war eventually done, the Incarnates were cut loose.

Many went back to their homes, but could not return to human form. Many of these too-far-gone soldiers turned into an uncontrollable force that terrorize the civilians they once sought to protect. It is now the duty of former captain of the Incarnates, Hank Henriette, to take them down as he struggles with betrayals past and present.

The world is overcome with demons called Yoma that constantly plague humanity.
