Seichii being help by a pink gorilla with anime girl eyes in the Fruit of Evolution anime

Anime Like The Fruit of Evolution: Before I Knew It, My Life Had It Made

Seiichi Hiragi is a fat loser who has been outcasted and bullied at school. However, one day it was announced by a being claiming to be God that they would all be transported to another world, but had to wait for the summoning to be completed.

The school formed up into groups, but Seiichi was shunned.

This caused him to be transported elsewhere when they went to a new world. Hungry, he ate a fruit that turned out to be the fruit of evolution, propelling his life to new heights.

I’ll be real – I liked this series best when it was him playing house with a big pink gorilla. It went downhill after she evolved into a generic anime girl. Yet, The Fruit of Evolution did nail comedy when it came to its animal girls. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like The Fruit of Evolution, head on down below.

arifureta anime

Arifureta – From Commonplace to World’s Strongest

Otaku Hajime Nagumo and several of his classmates are summoned to a fantasy world and tasked with saving mankind. However, while his classmates are gifted with great abilities, Hajime only has transmutation skills that have no real offensive use.

He is soon betrayed by a classmate and sent into an abyss filled with monsters. Resolving to not die to the darkness, he struggles to survive and teams up with an imprisoned vampire to return to the world above.

Both Arifureta and The Fruit of Evolution start off with a guy that is a loser and generally looked down on. However, Arifureta starts sometimes after his whole class was transported to a new world.

Both series really kick off when the main character is separated from their classmates and quickly become a badass on their own. They then travel, gather a harem, and grow even more impressive.

However, the major difference between Arifurta and The Fruit of Evolution is the tone.

The Fruit of Evolution is light-hearted and comedic while Arifureta, because he was brutally betrayed, has the main character become a brooding edgelord who barely even trusts the women that adore him.

Kumoko from So Im a Spider So what anime spinning web

So I’m a Spider, So What?

On one normal day in high school, the lives of many students ended unexpectedly. Some were reincarnated as nobles or strong heroes. Others were reincarnated as wondrous fantasy creatures.

Unfortunately for one girl, she was reincarnated as a lowly cave spider. No stranger to hardship given her difficult school life, she vows to not give up, and through an RPG system, grows stronger each day.

Both The Fruit of Evolution and So I’m a Spider follow outcasts who were transported (or reincarnated) to a new world with their class, but end up in a different location. However, this time the roles are somewhat reversed.

In The Fruit of Evolution, his classmates have a rough start in their new world while the main character thrives. In So I’m a Spider So What, the classmates all have a great start to their new life in another world while the main character has to grind out and struggle to survive.

As the main character in So I’m a Spider So What is female, it is not a harem isekai anime.

accel world anime

Accel World

Haruyuki Arita is a loser at school, constantly ridiculed by his peers. Like so many, his only escape is into the virtual world of video games.

One day, his video game skills attract the attention of Kuroyukihime, the school’s popular student council vice president. She introduces Haru to a new game called Brain Burst that accelerates the human cognitive process to the point of which time appears to stop.

However, it is really actually an Augmented Reality Massively Multiplayer Online (ARMMO) Fighting Game where people fight each other in fierce duels in order to obtain Burst Points which can be spent for acceleration abilities in the real world.

While Accel World isn’t an isekai fantasy anime, it does follow a chubby loser akin to Seiichi. He is outcasted by his classmates, but one day receives an ability to essentially level himself up.

Unlike The Fruit of Evolution, Haruyuki never becomes a hottie, but he does get the love of a beautiful woman through his skills and personality.

Noir and his harem looking at the stars in the Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter anime

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter

Noir is the son of a minor noble. He was going to work as a librarian until the son of a higher rank noble took the position. He does have one special advantage – the use of an ability to consult a great sage.

However, using it gives him terrible headaches. Discovering a way to lightly calm the headache, he consults the sage on how to move forward.

The sage guides him to a secret dungeon where he meets a trapped powerful adventurer. She grants him her powers so that he can gain power and admission to a great adventurer academy.

The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter is a standard fantasy anime and not an isekai, but it has a few similarities to The Fruit of Evolution. The most notable similarity between the two is that they are both rather lewd harem series, The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter being more frequently so.

In both The Fruit of Evolution and The Hidden Dungeon Only I Can Enter, a plot device quickly sees the main character go from essentially powerless to being a god among men. It is their power and good nature that soon attract a large harem, though one less diverse than The Fruit of Evolution.

For Fans of Gathering A Quirky Harem

monster musume harem anime

Monster Musume

With his parents abroad, Kimihito Kurusu is living the quiet alone life. Or rather, he was until an incompetent interspecies exchange coordinator made him the caretakers of a Lamia named Miia.

With a supernatural creature now living in his house, it serves to not only break up his peace, but attract other supernatural beings as well.

Monster Musume takes place in our modern world, but its similarity to The Fruit of Evolution lies in its selection of ladies. Like many of Seiichi’s harem members are animal girls, all of Kurusu’s harem are monster girls.

While The Fruit of Evolution likes lewd moments, it always treats them more comically than an actual ecchi anime. Monster Musume, while also comical, is distinctly a more ecchi harem anime.

tsukimichi anime

Tsukimichi – Moonlight Fantasy

Makoto Misumi is just an ordinary boy, but one night after learning his parents were from another world and guaranteed their travel to Japan by agreeing to give up what they care about most one day, he is transported to another world.

Unfortunately, the goddess of that world finds him ugly and in all ways repulsive.

She flings him to the corner of the world with her only gift being the ability to understand, speak, and write monster languages. With gifts from his previous worlds’ god, Tsukuyomi, and enhanced abilities from growing up in a non-magical world, Makoto sets out to make a life for himself.

Both The Fruit of Evolution and Tsukimichi are isekai anme that follow losers. However, Makoto wasn’t a loser in our world, but humans are so great in his isekai world that he is a loser by comparison.

Regardless, both anime follow that aforementioned loser as he endears himself to animal women who become fully devoted to him and accompany him on his adventures.

Like The Fruit of Evolution, Tsukimichi is often very silly though in a more subdued way, but also has its serious moments of combat.

beast tamer anime

Beast Tamer

Rein is a beast tamer and member of the Hero’s Party. However, because beast taming is rather weak magic, he is used as more of a errand boy for them instead.

That all changes when they finally fire him and he is set adrift. Kicked out of the party, he ends up meeting a girl from one of the strongest species of beast people and tames her.

Together, they become magnificent adventurers while the Hero’s Party begins to realize that their previous success was all due to Rein’s support.

While Beast Tamer isn’t an isekai, it shares the same sensibilities as one where the main character is super overpowered, but also a very nice young man that women keep falling in love with quickly.

What makes Beast Tamer an anime like The Fruit of Evolution is that both shows are essentially about an OP main character gathering a harem of mostly animal girls. However, in Beast Tamer, they don’t evolve from actual animals. If you enjoyed the animal girls in The Fruit of Evolution, there really is no better option than Beast Tamer.

The major difference between these two anime series is the tone. The Fruit of Evolution is often a silly comedy and even its action and harem sequences aren’t treated very seriously. Beast Tamer, while light-hearted, does take its battles seriously.

death march anime

Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody

Suzuki Ichirou is a programmer for a game company, and in order to keep up with demands, he frequently sets his work pace to “death march” in which he works for days straight with little sleep and without going home.

During one of these death marches, he falls asleep and when he wakes up, he is somehow transported inside of one of his games.

If you took out the really solid comedy of The Fruit of Evolution and the series took itself seriously, you would end up with something close to Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody.

In Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody, all he does is travel around and meet girls who are very obviously going to be in his harem. However, instead of animal girls like in The Fruit of Evolution, usually they are slaves that he frees and/or buys.

If you don’t mind generic isekai and really just want more harem, Death March to the Parallel World Rhapsody is for you.

For Fans of Comedic Isekai Adventures

life with an ordinary guy who reincarnated into a total fantasy knockout anime

Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout

On their way home from a mixer, average guy Tachibana and his handsome best friend Jinguuji are attacked by a naked goddess.

When they wake up in another world, she tells them that they are heroes and tasks them with killing a demon lord.

However, much to the chagrin of woman-hating Jinguuji, Tachibana has been transformed into a super cute girl!

To be blunt, The Fruit of Evolution and Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout have two things in common – comedy and isekai.

Neither takes their plot very seriously, but they are often lovable for the jokes that they make. Furthermore, every character you see is some kind of dysfunctional.

Their penchant for comedy aside, The Fruit of Evolution is more about his beast girl harem and Life with an Ordinary Guy who Reincarnated into a Total Fantasy Knockout is instead a gender-bender comedy.

Genzo from Kemono Michi together with his harem of kemonomimi

Kemono Michi

Shibata Genzo is both a professional wrestler and an animal lover. One day, he is summoned to another world by a princess. She makes the mistake of asking him to rid her kingdom of these evil beasts.

Instead of doing that, Genzo suplexes her and heads off to start a monster pet shop.

The Fruit of Evolution has a standard isekai plot that it sort of half-heartedly follows as it gives more of its attention to comedy and harem-building. Kemono Michi establishes a unique isekai plot that it half-heartedly follows because the characters are often being silly and easily distracted.

Both Kemono Michi and The Fruit of Evolution are for fans of animal girl harems. However, Kemono Michi isn’t an ecchi show and Genzo only has eyes for actual animals.

What these shows both do very well is comedy. They have some great jokes.

anime series like konosuba

Konosuba

On his way back from buying a new game, Kazuma Satou died a pathetic death.

However, he awakens before the Goddess Aqua who gives him two choices: go to heaven or reincarnate into an actual fantasy world. Naturally, the gamer picks the fantasy world.

Now, Kazuma must deal with defeating an evil demon king, useless party members, and paying living expenses.

While Konosuba is an isekai about the world’s most dysfunctional adventuring party, the group in Konosuba often feels quite a bit like the group in The Fruit of Evolution.

The women in both show are all very powerful, but also very flawed, which has an effect on their adventures. However, The Fruit of Evolution often drops the comedy when it comes to combat – Konosuba does not.
