Himuro and his family are descended from a snow yokai which resulted in his family having a strange power. Whenever he is excited or deep in concentration, it produces a Arctic winds and snow around him.
Finally starting a new job, he meets his cool co-worker Fuyutsuki. She is a calm woman with a stoic personality that always provides him simple solutions to the problems his powers create.
Himuro finds her absolutely adorable and vows to do whatever it takes to win her affections.
Leaning on the same joke is dangerous, but because of the variety of different situations, this series always feels fresh and cute as a romance. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, head on down below.

For Fans of Workplace Romance
Wotakoi – Love is Hard for an Otaku
After discovering they work at the same company, a gaming otaku and a fujoshi rekindle for the first time since middle school.
After some good old-fashioned after work drinks, they decide to start dating, but dating an otaku as an otaku is more difficult that one would think.
While Wotakoi and The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague are both office romance anime between adults, Wotakoi has a bit of an advantage as a romance anime since the main couple becomes a couple in the first episode.
The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is more about developing feelings without dating, while Wotakoi is more about falling in love with someone you just casually started dating.
These are also both romance shows where the characters have unique quirks that make them different from just the standard office worker. In The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, he is part-yokai in a world where that seems uncommon, but not unheard of. Wotakoi is more grounded in that the characters are otaku of some kind, some of which are ashamed of being such in front of normal people. Regardless, these quirks often make the characters self-conscious in both shows.
My Senpai is Annoying
At a trading company, junior salesperson Futaba Igarashi has flourished under the guidance of her senpai, Harumi Takeda.
However, while he teases her about her short stature, Igarashi has come to admire Takeda for his reliability in the workplace as their relationship continues to develop.
If there is one anime most like The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague, it would be My Senpai is Annoying.
Both My Senpai is Annoying and The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague follow co-workers in the office that, upon spending time together, clearly develop feelings for each other. However, these are both romance anime that suffer from “I’ll never say” syndrome when it comes to their feelings.
While love is not said in such plain words, their actions say everything you need to know. Furthermore, as both series go on, you see multiple other couples start to develop among the characters.
If you like office romance anime, these are both excellent choices.
Ganbare Douki-chan
Douki-chan is an office worker who has a crush on her co-worker, Douki-kun.
Unfortunately, her efforts to gain his attention are constantly thwarted by her two love rivals – Kouhai-chan and Senpai-chan.
As all three girls vie for his attention, Douki-chan will need all the luck she can get.
While both The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague and Ganbare Douki-chan are office-themed romances between co-workers, they are a bit different in other regards.
While The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is more a wholesome affair of falling in love with each other, Ganbare Douki-chan is a competitive romance. She is in love with a guy in her office, but so are two other girls. As such, the anime is instead about her trying to gain his eye over the other women.
Servant x Service
Servant x Service follows three new civil servants in the city of Mitsuba.
Each character is driven by their own personal motivations, but never-the-less they are encouraged to work hard for the city even if it is a thankless job.
If, for some reason, a larger focus on the actual act of working in an office was something you wanted more of in your office romance anime, Servant x Service is for you.
The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is an office romance that focuses more on romance than work. Servant x Service, however, focuses more on the lives of the characters. Yes, there is some dating, but it also knows to show that there is more to life than romance too. It is more work-themed slice of life, with romance injected in too.
For Fans of Creatures Living Among Us
Interviews With Monster Girls
Although not completely common, Ajin, or demi-humans, have become a part of society. High school biology teacher Tetsuo Takahashi is increasingly interested in Ajin for research, but having never met one himself, he let it be.
He was going to give up until he found out that not only are three students in his school demi-humans, but a fellow teacher as well.
As he sets up interviews with them, Tetsuo finds out that they have both human and demi problems to overcome.
While The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is set in an office and Interviews with Monster Girls follows a high school teacher, they both show worlds where there are otherworldly creatures living like normal people.
Both series actually portray part-yokai humans and demi-humans as uncommon in society, but common enough to not be too shocking when people encounter them. It allows both anime to focus on slice of life elements while still exploring the special difficulties that they have to deal with in their daily life.
While Interviews With Monster Girls has less romance, it does develop a similar sort of romance wherein someone develops a crush, gush ersover that person internally, and never actually says their feelings like in The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague.
A Centaur’s Life
Thanks to the different route taken by evolution, there are no humans in this world, only supernatural creatures.
Himeno is a sweet and shy centaur girl who is in a class full of angels, devils, and beast people, but this is all normal in the world.
Despite everything being supernatural, this is about Himeno’s completely normal life.
A Centaur’s Life is innately different from The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague in a number of ways. It is a high school anime that also isn’t a romance. It is more just a slice of life.
However, what A Centaur’s Life does share with The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague is that it really highlights the ways being different from humans is inconvenient in what is otherwise our normal world. Producing snow when excited is difficult for Himuro, but being a centaur comes with a lot more difficulties then you might expect.
For Fans of I Love You, But I’ll Never Say It
When Will Ayumu Make His Move?
One day, Ayumu quits the kendo club and decides to join the Shogi Club which only has one member.
Urushi is happy to have a playing partner and as the older student, she seeks to mentor Ayumu. However, his straightforward and honest demeanor often has her blushing with embarrassment.
While she waits for a confession from him, Ayumu has vowed that he won’t confess until he beats her at a game of Shogi.
Both The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague and When Will Ayumu Make His Move are built around two characters in love that aren’t confessing to each other.
However, there are some key differences between them. The first is that When Will Ayumu Make His Move is set in high school. The second is that Urusei, unlike Fuyutsumi, doesn’t have the same level of chill. In fact, she is a spaz like Himuro’s inner thoughts.
Finally, When Will Ayumu Make His Move comes with a goal. This means there will be confession eventually once the condition is met, while The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague leaves things up in the air.
Science Fell In Love, So I Tried To Prove it
One day, beautiful female scientist Ayame told her co-worker Shinya that she loved him.
Both being rational people, they expressed their lack of experience with romance and decided to use science as a way to concretely conclude if they did indeed love each other.
Did you enjoy how Himuro and Fuyutsuki are clearly very interested in each other and do everything short of actually becoming a couple? Science Fell in love, So I Tried to Prove It is in the same vein.
Both series feature adults who spend a great deal of time together trying to figure out their feelings in cute and comical ways.
Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible
Junta Shiraishi has a special, if not sometimes inconvenient skill of being difficult for people to notice due to his lack of presence. However, while even the teacher fails to notice him, his desk neighbor Nagisa Kubo seems to never miss him.
Unfortunately, Kubo likes to tease him on a daily basis and put his near-invisibility to the test in nerve-wracking situations. However, her playful antics begin to evolve into what normal people would easy see as clear feelings for him.
While Kubo-san Won’t Let Me Be Invisible takes place in high school, it has a similar dynamic to The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague.
The main characters clearly like each other, but no one is willing to admit it. Instead what you get are just a series of cute moments shared between them and watching their relationship and feelings for each other grow.
One caveat is that Shiraishi in Kubo Won’t Let Me Be Invisible often thinks that Kubo is making fun of him while she is usually just playfully teasing him to see his cute reactions.
For Fans of Stoic, but Sweet
Aharen-san is Indecipherable
Excited to have a different and more social high school life, Raidou introduces himself to his seat neighbor on the first day.
At first, he thinks this small girl is just ignoring him. However, he discovers that she has a quiet voice and is bad at determining personal space.
From this meeting, an odd friendship blooms.
Both Aharen-san is Indecipherable and The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague follow two people that are outwardly low on emotion. As they also both follow the guy as the main character, they also show what a sweetheart he is in his inner monologue.
However, Aharen-san is Indecipherable is a high school romance, but it has great comedy and actual romantic progression.
The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten
After seeing the “angel” of his school, Mahiru Shiina, sitting in the rain, Amane Fujimiya gives her his umbrella and catches a cold because of it.
While he expected her to return the umbrella eventually, he is surprised when she, a girl who is also his neighbor, comes over to take care of him.
Seeing the unsightly state of his apartment, she helps him get that in order and suddenly he finds that she is doing small household tasks for him every day after school as they spend more time together.
Both The Ice Guy and His Cool Female Colleague and The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten follows two people who are on the lower end of the emotional scale. They aren’t dramatic or over-the-top in their actions, but clearly enjoy each other’s company.
While Himuro can gush a bit in his internal dialogue, neither character in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten really tends to overflow like that.
Instead, both shows have characters that do nice things for each other. In fact, both characters in The Angel Next Door Spoils Me Rotten are much like Fuyutsuki – low emotion, but clearly very curious about each other.
