Both series are comfy slice of life isekai series. There is slightly more adventure in By the Grace of the Gods, but both series are more so about people pursuing passions rather than being adventurers. They are also pretty complex in some aspects like running a business or making books.
Hataage! Kemono Michi
Shibata Genzo is both a professional wrestler and an animal lover. One day, he is summoned to another world by a princess. She makes the mistake of asking him to rid her kingdom of these evil beasts. Instead of doing that, Genzo suplexes her and heads off to start a monster pet shop.
Both series follow isekai protagonists that start a business. They aren’t high action, but they are high comedy and wholesomeness. They also both really, really enjoy their beastkin women.
Parallel World Pharmacy
After dedicating himself to creating medicines as a pharmacist, Kani Yakutani works himself to death at the age of 31. He awakens in the form of a ten-year-old boy that has been struck by lightning. He discovers that he is the son of a prestigious family as well the host to the guardian deity of medicine. This allows him to immediately diagnose illnesses in others. While this is a miraculous ability, he discovers the state of medicine in this world is primitive and takes up his previous profession from his past life as a pharmacist once again.
Both series follow overworked adult men who reincarnated into little boys rewarded with incredible talent for their dedication in a previous life. While their passions are different, they have the same aim. They use their skills to start businesses that helps people. They are also both lower in action, but do have little adventure arcs to keep things interesting.
The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent
Sei, a young office worker, is summoned to a new world. However, the people who summoned her to banish dark magic from the world only meant to summon one person they would call Saint. Instead, they summoned two, and Sei discovers that they actually like the other girl better. Not really caring about that, she ends up making potions at a research institute using her newfound magic. Unfortunately, while she is unexpectedly talented at her work and happy doing it, she begins to think that she is indeed the Saint.
While the main characters differ in gender and age, they were both overworked office people. In their new lives in a fantasy world, instead of being adventurers, they choose to pursue their passions. This means there is only a little adventure, but it makes you happy seeing them happy, you know?
For Fans of Being Magnificent Without Really Trying
Wise Man’s Grandchild
After being hit by a truck and killed, a young man was reincarnated into a new world as a baby. He was found and raised by a legendary sage named Merlin and given the name Shin. However, while Merlin taught him his skills and Shin grew in to an extremely powerful mage, living in the forest failed to teach Shin common sense and other people skills.
Both series are about people reincarnated into a new world where they are essentially raised in seclusion. This allows them to hone their magnificent magic. However, while Ryouma maintained his people skills, the whole joke in Wise Man’s Grandchild is that Shin has minimal people skills since he was raised in the forest.
Death March to a Parallel World Rhapsody
Suzuki Ichirou is a programmer for a game company, and in order to keep up with demands, he frequently sets his work pace to “death march” in which he works for days straight with little sleep and without going home. During one of these death marches, he falls asleep and when he wakes up, he is somehow transported inside of one of his games.
Both series follow a man that was worked pretty much to death, and they are then transported to a new world and put in a younger body. While Death March has more action, they both have the same sort of harem vibe. Essentially, they are powerful characters and that gets them ladies.
Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life
Because of her exceptional abilities, Misato Kurihara never got to live a normal life. However, after her sudden death, she is offered reincarnation and one wish. Her wish is to have average abilities so that she can live an average life. Unfortunately, reincarnated as a noble’s daughter, she still has impressive magic ability. Determined to still have her normal life, she flees to a far away hunter school and attempts to hide her abilities.
Both shows feature those with memories of their past life reincarnated into a new one. They are also extremely talented, but Misato isn’t exactly happy about that. There isn’t much plot to either aside from having fun and making friends.
Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear
Yuna much prefers staying home and playing her favorite VRMMO instead of going to school. During an update, she receives a strange and powerful bear outfit. It was overpowered, but too embarrassing to wear in-game. However, she finds herself suddenly transported to the world of the game, and her bear suit becomes her best chance of surviving.
While both series are about characters sent to another world where they are almost effortlessly powerful, the thing they most have in common is their lack of general plot. Both shows are more about having low-key adventures, relaxing, and having fun rather than intense action.
Suppose a Kid from the Last Dungeon Boonies Moved to a Starter Town?
In ancient times, those who saved humanity settled outside of the infamous Last Dungeon. Their descendants have all been strong enough to survive in the area by building a community. Lloyd is one such descendant, but the weakest in the village. Hoping to grow strong, he heads to the Kingdom of Azami to enroll in their military academy. However, in this starter zone, Lloyd’s powers seem otherworldly to everyone around him.
While Suppose a Kid From The Boonies isn’t an isekai series, it is about a small boy who is much more powerful than even many of the adults around him. However, they are both wholesomely humble about it. The big joke in Boonies is that Lloyd doesn’t actually realize how strong he is.
Black Summoner
After an accident, a man is killed and the Goddess of Reincarnation is tasked with reincarnating him. In this afterlife, he charms the goddess, gaining the rare class of summoner, and the ability to contract her as a summon in exchange for memories of his past life. Now thrust into a fantasy world as Kelvin, he hides his ultra-rare class to maintain his freedom to go on grand adventures and form pacts with powerful foes.
Both By The Grace of the Gods and Black Summoner are about people reincarnated into a new world and their power is essentially summoning and taming beasts. The big difference here is that while By the Grace of the Gods with wholesome and low action, Black Summoner is the opposite. It focuses on constant adventures to tame new companions and, well, becomes less wholesome when he starts buying slaves.
Skeleton Knight in Another World
After falling asleep playing games, a gamer woke up in the game world, but as a skeleton. While he is equipped well, his appearance is too frightening to live the peaceful life he wants. Yet, after meeting a beautiful elf woman, he may find himself on a different path full of adventure.
Both series are about men transported to a new world where they live their lives kind of doing what they want. Furthermore, they don’t seem to grasp how absolutely overpowered they are in that world. In Skeleton Knight, he actively tries to not stand out with his powers. Furthermore, his low-key life starts to get disrupted as he is dragged into the more action-oriented plot.
For Fans of Slime-Based Isekai
That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime
After a run in with a robber, the 37-year-old Satoru is suddenly killed. He is reincarnated into a fantasy land, but not as a man. In fact, he is no longer even human! He is reincarnated as a lowly slime. After wandering, he comes across a dragon who he befriends and who gives him the new name of Rimuru. Absorbing this dragon into his slime body, promising to eventually break the seal that has bound him, gives Rimuru great magical ability. He then continues to inadvertently befriend beleaguered fantasy creatures in the forest who are constantly threatened by humanity. Eventually, he decides to found a nation uniting these creatures in order to help them protect themselves.
Both shows are very obviously slime-focused, though Ryouma is not a slime himself. Regardless, both series have a big focus on creatures and a lot of creature characters. However, That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime is very action-oriented.
I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level
Dying from overwork, Azusa Aizawa is allowed to reincarnate into a new world as a witch that will live forever. Wanting to never be overworked again, she leisurely kills slimes in order to pay for living expenses. However, this meager amount of XP stacks over 300 years of doing it, and she finds herself at max level. Fearing someone will try to thrust work upon her, she decides to try and hide her strength.
Both series are very low action series with slimes as a major element. While Ryouma breeds them, Azuza kills them on occasion for funds to live her relaxing eternal life. Both characters are actively trying not to work too hard like in their own life, but often get pulled into adventure.
My Isekai Life – I Gained a Second Character Class and Became the Strongest Sage in the World
Yuuji Sano was once an office worker, but one day while finishing up his work he was summoned to another world. There he discovers that his class in this other world is a Monster Tamer, something not really good for adventuring as a profession. However, after an encounter with some slimes, he gains a second class – Sage – which allows him to also wield incredible magic.
While My Isekai Life focuses on an action-based plot, it is essentially what Ryouma would look like if he were a dedicated adventurer instead of running a laundry empire. Yuuji is a tamer and his primary workhorses are his abundance of cute slimes.
