However, when one of the most popular boys at school, Takumi Usui, discovers her secret, her world is about to get a whole lot more complicated.

Wolf Girl and Black Prince
In order to make friends with some popular girls, Erika Shinohara has taken to lying about having a boyfriend. In order to prove it, she hastily takes a picture of a man, but her friends recognize him as a school mate, the popular Kyouya Sata. In order to avoid humiliation, she asks him to pretend to be her boyfriend. He accepts, but only if she agrees to become his dog.
Not only are the plots of these two series close enough to be kissing cousins, but the characters even look the same. However, Usui is a tease while Sata is more into mentally torturing his lady friend.
Ouran High School Host Club
In Ouran High School, the typical student is a member of the wealthy elite, but not Haruhi Fujioka. Accepted on a scholarship, Haruhi wants to avoid all the glitz and glamour in order to study hard and become a lawyer. While looking for a rare quiet place to do so, Haruhi stumbles upon a host club. Frantic to get away from these weird boys, Haruhi breaks a valuable vase. In order to pay back the debt, the club demands that Haruhi becomes a host. There is only one problem, contrary to what the boys believe, Haruhi is actually a girl.
Both anime series feature a girl that is primarily tough, yet occasionally vulnerable falling in love with a blonde man. Both girls initially rebuke their affections due to being a little dense, but both male leads just want to look out for them. While they each have their moments, Ouran High School Host Club has the superior humor.
Oreshura
After being abandoned by his love-addled parents, Eita Kidou is a bit put off by romance. It also causes him to see through the love confession of one, Masuzu Natsukawa. As it turns out, she just wanted a boyfriend to stop the daily love confessions. While he initially declines, she takes to blackmailing him to be her fake boyfriend.
While both romantic comedies, Class President is a Maid keeps things pretty light while the blackmail in Oreshura is used for comedy, but is a little… Off. However, both shows are about people falling in love without meaning to due to circumstance.
For Fans of Forceful Main Girls
Special A
Introduced as children, Hikari Hanazono has always been second to Kei Takishima in everything from academics to pro-wrestling. Ever since the first time he beat her, Hikari has been on a vendetta to finally be number one, even going so far as to attend his prestigious school where both are placed in the Special A class for the most elite. However, for all Hikari’s mental and physical prowess, she doesn’t realize one thing – that Kei is in love with her.
The biggest similarity between these two series is that the female leads, while strong and motivated, both are completely oblivious to the feelings of the men around them. In fact, that is 80 percent of the comedy in Special A. However, even if it takes awhile for pay off, you still get some tender moments, even if they are one sided usually.
Skip Beat
Although extremely bright, Kyouko Mogami’s naivety shines brighter as she toils endlessly to support her childhood friend and rising pop star Shou Fuwa. However, when she learns that all her hard work is like free servitude to her friend, she decides to get back at him by joining the ruthless world of entertainment herself.
Essentially the attitudes in Skip Beat and Class President is a Maid are inverted. Instead of being cold like Misaki, Kyoko is warm and bubbly which then warms up the cold man that was supporter her. However, both women are strong and motivated towards a goal while the men just kind of latch on, support, and fall in love.
Medaka Box
As the perfect girl, it is only natural that Medaka Kurokami would win the election for school president by a landslide. Her first order of business is to install a “Medaka Box” in which the students could request her help. Medaka fulfills these requests with top speed, adding a flower to the student council room with each student helped. However, during her trials, she discovered a malicious plot on the academy and herself.
Medaka Box is like Class President is a Maid if it were less of a love story. The themes are still there, but the bad ass student council president is more of the focus while the blonde man supporter her is there for some easy awws.
For Fans of Maids
Mahoromatic
Although once a powerful battle robot, Mahoro is reaching the end of her operating life. If she conserves her energy, she is given just over a year to live. So, she decides to live the rest of her life as a maid for a messy middle schooler named Suguru who lives alone after losing his parents.
Maids and romance. That is all these two series have in common, but if you want more of a tragic bint, Mahoromatic can work with that at times. However, they are both good for some laughs, but since Suguru is a middle schooler, don’t expect much mature romance.
He is My Master
Izumi and Mitsuki are sisters that have ran away from home. Needing a job, they apply to be maids in the mansion of a young millionaire. Unfortunately, instead of a sweet little boy, they find an authoritative boy that demands they call him master.
Hard-working girls, guys that are kind of dicks, and all with some sort of romance, that is what both these series have. Well, maids, too. However, He is My Master is more of a harem comedy and doesn’t have the same romantic pay off.
Hayate the Combat Butler
After being abandoned by his parents and working up a huge debt, Hayate Ayasaki decides to try to kidnap a girl for ransom money. However, after feeling sorry for her and actually saving her from real kidnappers, he finds out that she is extremely rich and wants him to be her personal butler.
Not only does this series have maids in common, but both series are about the main characters trying to pay off a debt. In order to do so, they get a job as a butler/maid and work their hardest. However, after that they start to differ. While Class President is a Maid is more romance-oriented, Hayate the Combat Butler is more about random humor.
