Anime Like I’m Quitting Heroing

After using his immense power to save the world, Leo finds that there is no place for a powerful hero in a world at peace. Being too strong to remain in human kingdoms, he seeks a job in the Demon King’s Army, which he defeated and is in need of rebuilding. While the army has many problems, Leo’s power is boundless, but he finds that the demon king has kinder motives for world domination than he expected.

This could have been a more ambitious show, but what we did get was still pretty enjoyable. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like I’m Quitting Heroing, then head on down below.

Maoyuu – Archenemy and Hero

After fifteen years of warfare with the demon world, the Hero is unsatisfied with their advance and rushes forward to the Demon Queen’s Castle. There he not only finds a beautiful woman that is the queen, but she needs his help. To his surprise, she offers a way to not only help his country, but hers as well. Together, they join forces to make that dream a reality.

While different in their set up and overall tones, these series are both about a strong hero allying himself with the Demon Queen who has motives other than doing evil. While I’m Quitting Heroing leans into comedy with moments of seriousness, Maoyuu is more serious about its overall plot. Regardless, they both have a focus on politics, economics, and various kingdom administration.

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom

How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom

Kazuya Souma is summoned to another world rife with adventure. There, the king cedes his throne to the young hero and Souma finds himself saddled with a kingdom in decline. Now, he shows the true might of his heroism by rehabilitating the country, not through adventure or war, but through rigorous economic administration.

While How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom is an isekai show, these series have the same focus. Instead of adventuring and growing personal power, they are about managing a kingdom and rebuilding it into a thriving one.

amagi brilliant park anime

Amagi Brilliant Park

Kanie Seiya, a smart, but narcissistic high school student, believes that the reserved Sento Isuzu has invited him on a date to the amusement park. However, the park turns out to not only to be run down, but his date was more of a job recruitment. Recruited as the new manager, can he turn this park around in just three months?

While not a fantasy show, Amagi Brilliant Park is about rebuilding a destitute theme park up into a thriving one. You get that same element of administration like in I’m Quitting Heroing, and interestingly enough, a large array of silly characters. The difference is that Amagi Brilliant Park isn’t a fantasy land.

combatants will be dispatched anime

Combatants Will Be Dispatched

On Earth, the villainous Kisaragi Corporation has finally conquered everything, but they have their eye on the entire universe. Having finally created a transporter, they send agent Roku-gou to the kingdom of Grace where he is to infiltrate and eventually conquer the kingdom for the corporation. Of course, to ensure the success of one of their more disposable agents, they send with him Alice, an exceptional android, to make sure the mission is carried out. Finally arriving, Roku-gou and Alice end up infiltrating the inner circle of the kingdom and helping them secure victory against an invading Demon Lord.

Combatants Will Be Dispatched is more of a comedy show, for sure, but in between the jokes, it is also about a pair helping a besieged kingdom turn into a thriving one. Of course, they have ultimately evil motives in doing so, but they are still helping.

Banished From The Heros Party I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside

Banished From The Hero’s Party, I Decided To Live A Quiet Life In The Countryside

Red was once the member of a hero’s party that sought to destroy the Demon Lord Taraxon. However, while Red was powerful at first, his companions soon eclipsed him, and thus, pushed him out of the party. Hoping for a more laid-back life, he moves to the country with a dream to start an apothecary. He hopes to keep his past as an adventurer a secret, but that becomes increasingly more difficult when an adventurer named Rit from his past asks to move in with him.

Like Leo, Rit was also pushed out of something. However, Rit was pushed out of his adventuring party because he was too weak. Like Leo, he is pretty pleased with being able to go live his own life in his own way, however. Both series lean heavily into slice of life adventures.

the rising of the shield hero anime

The Rising of the Shield Hero

The stories tell of four heroes summoned from another world – the sword, spear, bow, and shield heroes who will prevent calamity. With darkness bearing down on them, the Kingdom of Melromarc summons these heroes from modern day Japan. For otaku Naofumi Iwatani, unfortunately he is labeled the shield hero, the weakest of the group. Worse yet, betrayal sees him labeled as a criminal and outcasted. With hatred and vengeance consuming him, he sets forth to grow strong.

Most notably, both of these series follow heroes that were utterly pushed out of society for various reasons. While Leo doesn’t necessarily have revenge on the brain like Naofumi does, it is still a fun twist to see what shunned people choose to do with their new freedom.

legend of legendary heroes anime

The Legend of Legendary Heroes

Ryner Lute is a talented mage with the power of Alpha Stigma, special eyes that can analyze all types of magic, but are said to bring destruction. He was once a student in a magic school, but after most of his classmates died in the war, he makes an oath to make the world a more peaceful place. In an effort to do this, he sets out to find relics from legendary heroes with the help of beautiful swordswoman Ferris Eris.

Both series follow wildly powerful individuals who don’t necessarily want to be powerful individuals. However, the big difference is that The Legend of Legendary Heroes has the main character learn to accept his power only to be betrayed by society. It is more of an action show, but it has that similar element of societal betrayal.

Our Last Crusade or The Rise of a New World anime sorcery and sword

Our Last Crusade or the Rise of a New World

For years, war has raged between the Empire and the realm of witches, Nebulis. On the battlefield, a talented young knight is tasked with killing the princess of Nebulis, but he is taken by her beauty and she taken by his honor.

Both series feature people on two opposite sides growing close and ultimately being on the same side. However, the world is still at war in Our Last Crusade and it makes the story more of a star-crossed lovers affair.

the devil is a part timer anime

The Devil is a Part-Timer

Just as he was on the cusp of conquering his world, Satan is thrown through a portal to Tokyo. Although he cannot use magic in this world, he is still motivated to conquer it, but first, he must get a job and pay his rent on time.

While they may not seem immediately similar, as the series progresses, you find that the demon lord and the hero both end up in modern Japan and over time they become closer. Both series take a similar stance of comedy over most anything else, but they do also have some serious moments. It is also interesting to see how the characters think in terms of building their empire as well.

Lord Marksman and Vanadis anime

Lord Marksman and Vanadis

In fantasy Europe, war is brewing between the countries. One of the War Maidens known as Vanadis has recently launched an attack on neighboring rival, Brune. Young archer and Earl in Brune, Tigre, has his army decimated at her hands. However in a twist of fate, she spares him and takes him on as a servant.

Both series have two people that should be enemies becoming allies, and close ones at that. While Lord Marksman and Vanadis makes time for comedy, it is a war show that features various battles. However, it often has a nice lighter tone akin to I’m Quitting Heroing.
