Azusa from the 300 Slimes anime riding on a cart

Anime Like I’ve Been Killing Slimes for 300 Years and Maxed Out My Level

Dying from overwork, Azusa Aizawa is allowed to reincarnate into a new world as a witch that will live forever. Wanting to never be overworked again, she leisurely kills slimes in order to pay for living expenses. However, this meager amount of XP stacks over 300 years of doing it, and she finds herself at max level. Fearing someone will try to thrust work upon her, she decides to try and hide her strength.

Plenty of isekai anime series have the main character be a powerful hero, and now having exhausted that, they have started in on making the main character powerful and actively trying to avoid adventure. If you are looking for more anime recommendations like 300 Slimes, head on down below.

For Fans of Female-Led Isekai Anime

the saints magic power is omnipotent anime

The Saint’s Magic Power is Omnipotent

Sei, a young office worker, is summoned to a new world. However, the people who summoned her to banish dark magic from the world only meant to summon one person they would call Saint. Instead, they summoned two, and Sei discovers that they actually like the other girl better. Not really caring about that, she ends up making potions at a research institute using her newfound magic. Unfortunately, while she is unexpectedly talented at her work and happy doing it, she begins to think that she is indeed the Saint.

Premiered in the same season and suspiciously similar, both series follow overworked office women isekai’d to a fantasy world where they have a better, more relaxing life with fulfilling social connections. They are also both quite powerful, but in 300 Slimes she actively avoids using her immense power.

my next life as a villainess anime

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!

At eight years old, Katarina Claes, the only daughter of a duke, hits her head and suddenly remembers she was once a seventeen-year-old otaku that got isekai’d. She realizes that she is now in the world of Fortune Lover, the otome game that she had been playing before her death. Unfortunately, she is not the heroine, but rather the villainess who usually ends up dead or exiled at the end. As such, she endeavors to change her fate and avoid all doom flags.

Both series are female-led isekai series that aren’t about action. Rather, they are about friendship and both are often great relaxation shows. However, My Next Life as a Villainess is about being isekai’d into an otome game, so you can expect many of those tropes to be present.

kuma kuma kuma bear anime

Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear

Yuna much prefers staying home and playing her favorite VRMMO instead of going to school. During an update, she receives a strange and powerful bear outfit. It was overpowered, but too embarrassing to wear in-game. However, she finds herself suddenly transported to the world of the game, and her bear suit becomes her best chance of surviving.

Both series feature female main characters sent to a new world and made incredibly powerful in rather silly ways. You then watch them go on small, but ultimately cute adventures.

For Fans of Relaxing

anime series like miss kobayashis dragon maid

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid

Miss Kobayashi is a programmer that lives alone in her apartment. However, one day a giant green dragons ends up on her doorstep and transforms into a women in a maid outfit. Apparently Kobayashi had gotten drunk one night and ended up saving this dragon. Now, dragon Tooru intends to repay her debt through housework.

Both shows feature overworked office ladies who, thanks to an event, find happiness in their life through a dramatic change in it. In Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid, Kobayashi is just progressively more surrounded by dragons that make her home life more exciting and less lonely while 300 Slimes has her soothing new life enhanced by people that want her to train them.

laidback camp anime

Laid-Back Camp

After moving, Nadeshiko decides to go see Mount Fuji. She manages to bike pretty far, but has to turn back because of the weather and ends up fainting. When she wakes up, she finds herself somewhere she has never been and no way to find her way back. It is in this wilderness where she is saved by Rin, a girl who was out camping by herself.

Laid-Back Camp isn’t a fantasy show. It is simply a soothing show about the joys of camping and friendship. It is meant to be something to help you unwind, and probably would have been a solid watch for Aizawa when she was alive.

meddlesome kitsune senko anime

Meddlesome Kitsune Senko-san

Nakano is a salaryman that works for a company that greatly exploits him. He returns to home each day exhausted, and one day, returns home to find an 800-year-old fox girl has invaded his home. She cooks, she cleans, and she states that she will heal his exhaustion with her occasionally questionable care.

While pretty different in content, both shows are about overworked individuals that need a change in life. Nakano didn’t have to die to get it though. He just gets coddled by a fox deity.

For Fans of Wholesome Fantasy

bofuri anime

Bofuri

After receiving an invitation from a friend, Kaede Honjou starts playing the VRMMO game New World Online as a character named Maple. However, in her desire to not get hurt, she puts all her stats in Vitality. This makes her move very slowly, unable to use magic, and get attacked by even the smallest creatures. However, it does allow her impenetrable defense and her gear she finds while wandering grants her a one-hit counter skill. And so, her adventures begin.

While about a girl playing a VRMMO, Bofuri, like 300 Slimes, is about a main character that got super powerful by pure accident. She doesn’t use her power to be awesome, but rather both shows are about the main characters just sort of having wholesome small adventures.

didnt i say to make my abilities average in the next life anime

Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life?

Because of her exceptional abilities, Misato Kurihara never got to live a normal life. However, after her sudden death, she is offered reincarnation and one wish. Her wish is to have average abilities so that she can live an average life. Unfortunately, reincarnated as a noble’s daughter, she still has impressive magic ability. Determined to still have her normal life, she flees to a far away hunter school and attempts to hide her abilities.

Both series are isekai shows about a female main character that ends up super powerful despite not wanting to be. While 300 Slimes is about hiding that power to not do work, Didn’t I Say to Make My Abilities Average in the Next Life is about hiding her power to not intimidate her peers. Other than that, both are really just fantasy cute girls doing cute things shows.

princess connect anime

Princess Connect: Re:Dive

The nameless main character is sent to a new world. Kokoro, a girl chosen to be the guardian of her lord, travels to that specific location, told that she would find her lord there. While teaching him of his new world, she meets several other companions and they decide to form a Gourmet Guild in search of delicious things to eat.

Princess Connect may be an anime meant to simply hype a gacha game, but having never played the game and having no intention to, I can say it is still a great show. Much like 300 Slimes, it is a fantasy show about not much. The characters mostly hang out and go on missions so they can eat more delicious food.
