Psycho-Pass hooked people with its very strong first season, but something weird happened. Even while the second season wasn’t quite the ride of the first season, it was still pretty great! And that’s Psycho-Pass, a show that remains pretty consistently great even as it continues on. Maybe its passion for changing main characters keeps things fresh, or maybe anime in general just isn’t awash in good police dramas, much less cyberpunk-esque police dramas.

Do You Need to Watch the Psycho-Pass Movies?
The short answer is yes, you should watch the movies. Psycho-Pass Movie is the continuation of the first and second season, giving you a better sense of closure to the characters from those seasons.
Alternatively, the Sinners of the System movies are setting up heavily for season 3.
You could technically just go into season 3 since Sinners of the System can be a task to find. However, those movies give a lot better context to the characters that show up in the third season. They add a fair bit of clarity, but most have to sail the seven seas to find them, if you know what I mean.
As for First Inspector, that ONA is really more like the last three episodes of the third season. It turns out, they were setting up for the Providence movie, so you do need to watch them before the movie.
